Radio time!

Well, it is the run up to Christmas and a popular time for book sales. I'm doing my bit by getting out there to local radio stations for interviews - and even a competition to win tickets to Mike Sanchez and his Band live at Level Two in Buxton on 21st December. Ticket sales are going very well!

Latest Update: May 2014. The book is now available! Amazon still havent sorted an image out and officially its not launched until 1st June, but it is definitely out there - got my copies yesterday. Mike has been opening for Jeff Beck on the UK leg of his world tour, and last week I found myself in the surreal position of signing flyers in the foyer of the Bridgewater Hall. Its all rock & roll this week too as we head to the 100 Club in London for the official launch, followed by a local launch at Level Two in Buxton on 1st June.

Theres also been a couple of pieces of publicity

Mike Sanchez Big Town Playboy - a new gig by Michael Madden

The text is now with the publisher and the discography is being refined. Mike is sifting through photos - hoping to get a call with him today.

Been speaking to Rich Media, a PR company based in Sale with very good connections. Planning promotions rom April onwards.

We have also decided to go into the business of gig promotion - we are staging our very own Mike Sanchez show at Level Two in Buxton. Its a bit scary - costing around £2,500 to put on the gig, and at £12 a ticket - you do the maths. Local band The Barracudas will be the support act, and Mike will be bringing his full six piece including Martin Winning and Nick Lunt on horns. We'll probably get the lovely Sarah singing a few numbers too.

So if you are around the Peak District on Sunday 1st June - come along. Or better still email for tickets.

Mike Sanchez - Big Town Playboy - sneak preview

The book is now in the final stages of editing and we are a little behind schedule but we should be able to catch this up for an extensive series of dates to promote it in May.

Look out for gigs in Prestwich, Northampton, Leamington Spa, London, etc. For more information visit

Its around 90,000 words in length, or 300-350 pages, and begins with a brief but powerful foreword by Robert Plant. There are quotes from Jeff Beck, Andy Fairweather Low, Rick Vito (Fleetwood Mac), Steve Walwyn (Dr Feelgood), Peter Richardson, Clive Deamer (Portishead) and many more. The cover has been lovingly created by ex Big Town Playboy Antonio Coni, and there is a preview below. Hope you like it.
