It started in the usual way. Dear blah blah would you be interested etc etc....No thanks our list is full! Anyway, variety is the spice of life so I thought I would try to get my biography of Mike Sanchez (see above for working title), published by one of the many blues and rockabilly magazines around. No joy, although they have all offered free publicity, Especially Juke Blues , Blues & Rhythm and Blues In Britain. Two of them, however, pointed me in the direction of Music Mentor Books, as the owner, George Groom-White specialises in music books.
So I sent off a synopsis and chapter breakdown in an email together with a bio of myself.
I got a reply saying he was giving it serious consideration, and then another asking for more details which I eagerly supplied. Finally, yesterday, he offered a publishing contract. Really! I am awaiting the draft, but for a niche book such as this its as good as it gets. Now I just need to get Mike on the BBC and that's the marketing sorted! Well maybe not but its a huge step forward. Publication planned for early next year. Watch this space for future updates.

Mmm...No1...Cookbook proved surprisingly popular in Canada and the US, whilst Stags! was still the most popular title overall, particularly in the UK. Ole And Zac And The Port Of Tumbattle does not really lend itself to Kindle, but it did get a few hits, notably in the US.
Next up its all systems go on the authorised biography of Mike Sanchez. Work title Mike Sanchez - Big Town Playboy, and with the outline already complete I am now starting to pitch to agents and publishers.
Mike started his career in Kidderminster, and I have already had a promise of publicity and coverage from The Kidderminster Shuttle when the book is released.
My next task is to get quotes from around 50 people for inclusion, as well as others for cover endorsements, so more news on that in the next update. As these include Robert Plant, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mick Fleetwood, etc, it may prove to be quite difficult!
